Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • 1️⃣ In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • 2️⃣ Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  • 3️⃣ Fold in the vegan cheddar and diced jalapeños.
  • 4️⃣ Cover the bowl with a damp towel and let it rise for 12-18 hours at room temperature.
  • 2️⃣ Shape and Proof:
  • 1️⃣ Lightly flour a surface and shape the dough into a round loaf.
  • 2️⃣ Place it on parchment paper and let it rise for 1 more hour.
  • 3️⃣ Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a Dutch oven inside.
  • 3️⃣ Bake the Bread:
  • 🔥 Dutch Oven Method:
  • 1️⃣ Transfer the dough (with parchment) into the preheated Dutch oven.
  • 2️⃣ Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  • 3️⃣ Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • 🔥 No Dutch Oven? No Problem!
  • 1️⃣ Place the dough on a baking sheet.
  • 2️⃣ Add a tray of hot water to the oven for steam.
  • 3️⃣ Bake at 450°F for 40-45 minutes.
  • 4️⃣ Cool and Enjoy!
  • ✔ Transfer the bread to a cooling rack and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
